The Role
Had an absolutely fantastic experience all round, would definitely recomend GSK!
All of the staff at GSK are extremely supportive and friendly. I always felt like a true member of the team, and my views and opions were always valued.
My supervisor continued to support and guide me throughout the project, whilst allowing me to work indepentdently.
As with most jobs, there were times where there was little to do and everything felt a bit 'slow' but on other occasions we were really busy and therefore were required to work harder.
I was given enough responsibilities for me to realise my full potential and gain varying degrees of experience within the job role, but I never felt like I had been put under too much pressure
I have gained so much throughout the year and believe that many of the skills I have learnt will be transferable and I will continue to reap the benefits well into my career.
The Company
I really felt like a true member of the team, for the first time in my life I felt like I belonged. The group that I worked with were very professional but we always managed to have a good laugh, meaning that there was never a dull day.
The placement was extremely well set up, I was able to improve my organisational skills, by volunteering to take part in the organisation of the interviews for the subsequent years intake of placement students. I was also able to take part in demonstrating our work during the site open day and even given the opportunity to supervise some work experince students from local schools.
I believe I have gained an exeptional amount of knowledge and transferrable skills from this year. The company has invested a large amount of time and money into my personal development and I recieved large amounts of training throughout.

Working from home
This is a company that I would definately consider employment with.
The Culture
Yes there was a large group of placement students which gave us a great opportunity for various social events.
Price of accomodation varied considerably, depending upon where and with whom you lived, however prices were well with the norm, especially being only 30mins, by train, to London Kings Cross.
There is very little in Stevenage other than resturants and pubs, however it is cheap and easy to get to London on the train.
Personally I didn't really find any particular interests outside of work, however I do know people that have joined various clubs.
