The Role
The placement has been the best year in my life from the knowledge accumulation pov
I have been part of one of the best developers team ever! Great knowledge and great friends!
I received plenty guidance whenever I needed, but no so much that I did not had to do anything by myself.
The dev team uses Agile methodology....nothing more to say...really perfect balance or workload.
I was doing exactly what my job was, but the quality of my code was expected to be very good!
The skills and knowledge gained during this placement are truly priceless. Definitely not able to gain as much experience as I did here just by attending university courses.
The Company
The atmosphere is very detached, relaxed and enjoyable. Plenty of sweets and freebies around the place.
I started working on a new project as soon as I joined the company. I had a great integration with the teams.
I was given around a month to accomodate with their ways and learn the frameworks and code. I was not given training per say, but I had plenty of knowledgeable team members to ask.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Healthcare from home
I am definitely recommending getting a job or a placement with these guys. They have many cool and interesting stuff going on inside, great to be part of.
The Culture
Not sure what to say about this, but we had frequent pub outings.
The area is just 10 mins walk form Westminster, so I can't say it's cheap, but very acceptable keeping in mind Burberry had plenty of 3rd party discounts.
The are was not particularly a nightlife-rich one, but very close to the best ones in London.
YES! You have 1 day per week solely for R&D!!!
