The Role
I was continuously challenged and supported. Many opportunities and experiences have been made available
I continuously recieved feedback and development opportunities
My manager has been fantastic, we have had adequate contact time and she is always there when I need her. I can talk to her about anything that is happening and she always has suggestions or ideas
By the nature of my role my work load is very extreme. I sometimes can be bored and other times I am very busy, this works really well for me and has been an extremely enjoyable learning opportunity
It has varied between activities. I was given the opportunity to lead a team and have also been given responsibility in other ways. However, the nature of my role means that sometimes I am not given that much responsibility.
I have learnt a lot of theory which will be applied whilst at University, I have already decided on my decision topic and have completed extensive research around it. Also, the skills I have learnt on a vocational level will stay with me throughout my career
The Company
I work in two difference departments, one has a more lively atmosphere and the other is a bit quieter but my teams are extremely supportive and I have created fantastic relationships. I enjoy coming into work every day!
Fantastic. The role I am in is new to the department and it was hard figuring out "where I sat" and what my role was and where I could add value. But once I got into the swing of things I was able to organise the placement year extremely well
I work in learning and development and believe me, I have utilised that! I have had a fantastic year, continously developing, going on courses, reflecting on my learnings and experiences. I am very lucky

I applied for the grad scheme but it's so competitive I doubt I'll get it. I think there needs to be a bigger push on developing placement students for the graduate scheme and planting the seed a lot earlier on in the year so people can prep and go on experiences to develop their application. I also feel that there needs to be a bigger push for placement students to get "entry level roles", the people I have spent time with this year, I have created amasing relationships with and it saddens me that all that networking etc. could be lost. I will endeavour to stay in contact wth everyone and "keep my ear to the ground" but I don't know if I'll get an entry level role
The Culture
Yes, we had a fantastic mix of placement students, I was in "IP unite" which was a group of industrial placement (IP) students bringing everyone together so we organised some fantastic social events. The area we work in is quite quiet so it's hard to organise activities outside of working hours but it didnt stop us! I have also been involved in lots of events with my colleagues and team which is fantastic as I work with such inspirational leaders.
Well.. I am living in London so it's been tough! I have had less money here than at University but then I had less time to spend the money so it has worked out alright, but I have definitely not saved anything this year! The socialising has been great because I live with people I work with, therefore we are the same age and have similar mindsets
There's not much where we work, just a couple of pubs. But because the public transport in London is so good we have just gone into central and that's been a lot of fun
Not really, I go for a lot of meals out and drinks out with work colleagues which is nice but we don't really do activities.
