The Role
I was given so many different experiences in just 12 months that I could hardly think of a better way to spend my time.
The team did a very good job of making me feel welcome, and helped and supported me whenever they could - asking me for help and advice too.
Both my Manager and the department head were very helpful in guiding me through the year.
For the most part - I always had lots to do. There we certainly slow days at the start, but a month or two in and I was never short of work.
I was given a great deal of responsibility. I felt personally responsible for all of the work I produced, and was relied upon.
I was given significant training, both in terms of certain software packages, such as Advanced Excel - to Office training, Time management and Presentation training, all of which proved helpful.
The Company
The atomspehere was generally upbeat. People were always laughing and chatting.
The team did a great job in deciding what I was going to be doing for the year. It proved very well planned from the beginning with HR induction and meetings to the work I would be doing in my department.
They gave a good deal of training to me if I requested it. They also had planned training for me spaced throughout the year that was very useful.

I would like to think that they would be prepared to invest in me for the future - but I wonder what kind of standards they expect. I feel that I've been left to get on with things rather than work as a apart of a team, so I think I (and they) would find that hard to judge.
The Culture
The other students were very friendly. I was invited to nights out, and we did activities and birthdays.
The cost in darlington is, or at least can be - low. I chose to stay at a nice flat - so the price was higher than It needed to be. I could have chosen a considerably cheaper place If I so wished.
It was busy most nights. I didn't go out much though, just for food or the cinema =)
Loads of things were happening out of work. Some that we arranged, some that the plant arranged, and some that juts happened in Darlington and the local area.
