About You
Fantastically managed, great balance of informative presentations with 'real-life' work and deadlines.
Great culture
I had two designated Trainee 'buddies' and two supervisors, so I never felt like I was out on a limb.
In particular regarding commercial awareness
The Company
I always knew what I was meant to be doing, from start to finish. Great little booklet prepared by CMS to help me out if I was ever a little lost.
Fantastic firm, well structured vacation scheme, would be delighted to work here.
Every day there were talks, presentations, socials etc. and chances to network not only with Trinees but also Associates and Partners
As well as feeling like a 'vac-schemer', I was given a significant amount of work and deadlines, so I didn't just feel like a part-timer!
Very much so - this was something I paid particular attention to, and CMS wanted to get across to the vac-schemers
The presentations helped in deciding where I wanted to be within the legal sector and why I wanted to be there
Everything Else
I was paid - possibly not the best remuneration of the vacation schemes I have been on before, but the quality of training was very high.
Both in the form of social events and presentations, and informal question and answer sessions with partners and associates.
Socials were great fun, there was one per week - a fun cocktail making session and a more formal dinner out with the Grad Rec team, trainees and a partner.
Mostly CSR and social activities, which occured a fair bit. It was unusual to have the oportunity to get involved with CSR as usually vac schemes are far too short, but I really enjoyed the oportunity to see what went on when not at a desk!
Most definitley. The application process was vigorous, but I have come away with a good understanding of the inductry in general, and the firm in particualr.
