The Role
Great company, great opportunities and amazing colleagues.
Was treated like a professional member of staff, was never made to feel like a placement or intern.
Extremely supportive, very approachable and always willing to advise or help.
It's hard to get the perfect balance but during the busy periods staff were always there to support or help with workload. I was happy that they felt that I was able to handle the pressure and responsibility, never a dull moment.
One of the main aspects that I loved about my job was I had my own areas that I was responsible for. This meant that I got to take full ownership and they trusted me to take on these challenges.
The On-the-job training was a great opportunity for me to learn first had, I found personally this is more affective then formal training sessions for my role. As well as this there was always opportunities to attend different training and my team were always willing to help give you the chance to gain more experience and learn different skills in different areas if requested.
The Company
There were lots of changes during my time with the company due to the timing of my placement, however the atmosphere now everything has settled is high.
My work placement was well structured and set up
The Company was willing to invest in certain personal training and development depending on whether it would be useful to the job.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Working from home
Depending on if the department is allowed headcount depends on whether they're able to convert you into a graduate.
The Culture
There was 20 of us who all started on the same day and spent the first two days in our induction. This was a great opportunity to get to know each other and socialise throughout out placement year.
The cost of living was reasonable if you shared a house with other people. Much cheaper than London and surrounding areas.
The Nightlife was average however surrounding areas such as Canterbury were much better.
Sports and social club providing many events and sports activities to get involved with. Many students took part in Badminton and I also got the opportunity to go to Disney Land Paris for the weekend on discounted rate.
