    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • I really enjoyed the insight day at Towers Watson and it has injected me with a huge amount of enthusiasm to become an actuary at this company.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?

    • It was only a day long but all the staff I spoke to seemed genuinely interested in you, they were very keen to give advice and provide an insight into what it's like to work at Towers Watson.

    • I received a lot of information about the company, the career and an extremely helpful amount of advice about applying for an internship.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • The information I received confirmed that I did want to pursue a career as an actuary. It also helped me realise the next steps that I should take to make this a reality.

    • Everything was perfectly organised.

    • The staff were friendly, helpful and supportive. My peers were also very easy to get on with.

    • Although it was only for a day a lot of the employees had made time to come a talk to us.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?

    • There were exercises to try and give us an idea of what the job involved, these were good at giving very a general insight. I'm positive a more detailed impression will be gained during an internship.

    • They made an effort to explain the culture at Towers Watson and why it was important to the company.

    • For me the day removed all doubts in my mind about whether an actuary was the right career choice, I highly recommend this day to anyone sitting on the fence or even considering it as a possible career.

    • Travel was reimbursed.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • Yes, there was a long lunch break in which employees spoke to us in a slightly more casual environment, this was really helpful.
