The Role
Amazing opportunity, I have learnt so much and developed as a person.
Treated like a perminant member of staff and was respected in my ideas and views.
I was given as much help as I needed so throughout the year I was able to become more and more independent but knowing my supervisor was there for guidance if needed.
As busy as I wanted to be- obviously some days were more stressful than others but I orgnised my work load.
As time went on I became more and more independent and was given full responsibility of day to day work and contacting/ presenting results to programme teams.
This year will help me with my final year project and for my future in a PhD or job hunting.
The Company
It was an amazing office to work in- everyone was friendly and entusiastic but it was professional and ensured the work could get done.
Before arriving I felt I could have known more about the work I was going to do on placement but as soon as I arrived everything was explained and orgnaised.
There were online learning courses, information talks, lab training.

There are a huge number of opporunities from 3 year internships, jobs and collaborative PhDs.
The Culture
there was a great outdoors social club that offered kayaking, climbing etc and a bar. There were lots of students employed over the same time period so there was always something going on.
A lot cheaper than University in Bath!
In Stevenage the nightlife was awful but London was only a short train journey away.
There were some opporunities with the outdoors social club.
