About You
It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience despite being only 3 days long
we didn't really do any tasks to add value but I felt as though the company wanted me to return for the fast-track interview for the Summer internship
All employees were more than willing to answer any questions I had
The information I received will benefit me in pursuing a career in this industry
The Company
The programme was very well structured but it would have been beneficial to have some work shadowing
There was a good atmosphere and when we visited the trading floor, you could see the values in action
I felt that the firm offered a wide-range of methods for learning about the various areas of the industry. The fact that the insight was 3 days long limited the amount that could be gained from the experience.
I got a very good introduction to the divisions at the firm but some work shadowing and spending more time on the trading floor would have probably given me more of an idea of the full-time role.
In the sessions, the culture was clearly outlined and i'm sure the Summer Internship would allow you to see this culture in action
Due to the wide-range introduction to all the divisions, it really heped me to decide which divisions did/did not suit my personality and skill set.
Everything Else
also given accommodation for the duration of the programme
HSBC were very good at providing networking opportunities and invited employees from all divisions of the bank
the networking opportunities were really relaxed and perfectly allowed you to ask the questions you wanted to ask
Yes, we were walking through the foyer of the bank when the company choir were rehearsing and so I started to have a discussion with graduate recruitment regarding this.
HSBC provided a great insight into the industry and provided me with strong foundations for my future career
