The Role
I really learned alot about the company. I felt integrated into the team and supported by my manager, I have taken away skills for life.
I was aware of how the work i did fitted into the bigger picture.
Excellent support network, I was given a long hand over from the previous IT, assigned a mentor from a different department and had regular 121's with my manager to discuss my progress and performance.
Flexi-time allowed the work balance to work well.... if i had one particually busy day, i could finish early another day.
The right amount of responsibility.
I have learned alot, I have seen how the theories learned in the classroom relate to real situations. I have developed IT skills, and used programs i would not have got the chance to use without this placement.
The Company
Great set of people in the office. Lots of banter
Very well organised, everything was set up for me before my arrival.
Many oppertunities to shadow other departments, everything was explained to me, nothing seemed too much trouble.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I have recieved a conditional offer of employment, conditional on the completion of my degree and a job being available.
The Culture
Lots of nights out organised.
Pretty standard for a city. £4 a pint
Gunwhalf Quays has a large variety of shops, bars, restaurants and clubs.
