About You
Very enjoyable week. Good work and very nice people.
Was given a good variety of relevant and interesting work. Was not left with any menial tasks to complete.
Was assigned a buddy and a supervisor, but everyone in the department was happy to offer guidance.
The week was a practical insight into the pressures facing a solicitor in a law firm, including managing multiple important tasks for different people at the same time. This will be of use to my degree studies.
The Company
There was a clear timetable with time set aside for assessments and socialising, alongside the main portion of the week within a department.
A very welcoming, and friendly firm.
The firm was willing to afford a good amount of responsibility to me, and arranged for talks by current trainees and assessments from the college of law. These were valuable to my own continuing personal development.
The week was a practical insight into exactly how a law firm works. I felt like i was working full time, if only for a week.
I was made to feel a part of the company, and appreciated the way that employees worked with each other, without feeling like they were putting on a show. I was very impressed for the most part by the culture this conveyed.
It was a very informative insight into what life is like at a large regional firm, and will help me in deciding if this is the path i want to take.
Everything Else
I was paid a good wage of £175 for the week.
There was plenty of social time and opportunities to meet employees at all levels of the firm, including partners.
The networking and social events were very good. Free food and drinks provided, and a great chance to talk informally to trainees, solicitors and partners.
There was some talk of the other activities that employees get involved in, but not much.
It was a very interesting and engaging week.
