    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • This was the most enjoiable job I had so far. I worked as an intern in other companies where the environment and the job role were not as good as this.

  • I worked in a very friendly team and got plenti of help with my work. I ended up being good friends with my colleagues.

  • I had plenty of help from my managers and they were always available.

  • I worked on many projects but I did not have any urgent deadlines.

  • I got plenty of help with my work but it was down to me to ensure the work I do is correct.

  • I developed my professionall skills as well as my engineering knowledge and I will be doing my final year project in colaboration with the company.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There was always a very relaxed atmosphere in the department, with the ocasionall break for tea and a chat.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was not really organised in any particular way. I spent my time doing the same type of work as everyone else in the team. Al the students were working in there speciffic teams without any particular placement scheem.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I feel I got plenty of information and support and I attended many training sessions. I am also offered a bursary from the company if I decide to do my final year project in colaboration with the company.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Upon graduation I will be looking for other jobs, but I would be happy if I get offered a permanent position with Cummins in the analysis department.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There are pub nights, footbal matches and cycling events organised within the company.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I would say the cost of living and socialising in this area was average. I found it to be slightly cheeper than university.

  • Not very good.
