The Role
Really good place to work! Thoroughly enjoyed my work here, to the extent it almost didn't feel like a 'job'.
Work I contributed to programs was always very appreciated and everyone went out of their way to help/make feel welcome.
Anyone asked would do their best to help. Supervisor checked regularly I was getting enough support. Regular meetings or as and when requested. Couldn't have asked for better.
Generally busy but some days quieter than others based on work load. To be expected.
Running critical assays and allowed to use very expensive equipment on own. Required to present data to large groups. Also responsible for supervising and creating work plans for placement/work ex students for several weeks on numerous occasions.
Lab experience and public speaking skills gained have been invaluable!
The Company
Quiet when needed, but fun also.
Never any issues with organisation. Everything has run smoothly, probably because GSK well experienced with work placements.
Multiple opportunities to attend various training courses.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
Probably want to go do a PhD.
The Culture
GSK Stevenage takes many students, so plenty of events were organised. Even events across all GSK sites.
I'm from the North. More expensive down south but not ridiculous.
Stevenage has very few 'clubs'. Some nice bars and restaurants.
If you looked for them.
