About You
The insight was great - the work was interesting, the people were so friendly and the socials were very fun.
Everyone smiles at you in the corridoor, whether they know you or not. If you had any issues with work or otherwise, you could go to anyone and they would make the time to help you.
Graduate Recruitment was always on hand to offer guidance or support. You sit with a supervisor and get a trainee as a buddy, who can answer any questions you may have, however silly you think they are.
I think it is a great addition to my CV because the process to get onto it was quite rigorous. The skills I developed will definitely help if I become a trainee.
The Company
We had a timetable so we knew where we were meant to be at all times so you never felt lost or confused as to where you should be. The socials were well structured to suit everyone's tastes.
Everyone was so lovely and friendly, I felt like I made friends in my three weeks here.
The first day was spent on training, so we would know how to use the phones and the computer system. We were invited along to departmental talks and training during our time here.
A lot of the work I was given was the work they would usually give to a trainee so I felt like I understood what it would be like to do their work.
Three weeks is a long time for a firm to keep up a pretence so I felt like I got to see the real Bakers. And it was as brilliant as they sell it as - they say they are friendly and they really, really are.
We got to sit in different departments, of our choosing, so I felt like I could decide on whether I wanted to go into those departments for my training contract due to my experiences.
Everything Else
I was paid £270 per week.
There were loads of opportunities for networking, with people of all levels from trainees to associates to partners to managing partners.
FUN FUN FUN! We had a curry night then went out afterwards, then we had a bowling and karaoke night (which was easily the most fun, despite our apprehension) then we had a pizza-making and prosecco night.
I went along to some of the CSR events and my department had a fun run the week I arrived.
I would recommend it to everyone!
