The Role
The role was excellent as it challenged me to develop myself contiually throughout my placement. This was also assisted by the high level of responsiblity I was given from an early stage.
This is maintained by the close relationship I still have with my colleagues, with two continuing to mentor me beyond my placement for the remainder of my career.
I feel I was given as much support as required, however always encouraged to find the answers for myself to assist my own development which suited me perfectly.
Due to the high level of responsibility I gained from an early stage, I was always busy which sometimes pushed my time management to the limit, however most of the time it was fine.
I was given sole responsibility for several enterprise sized customers within a month. At one point, I was in charge of the most important Microsoft support case in the world throughout the night to assist my customer.
I have gained life long, industry recognised qualifications such as ITIL certifications, Microsoft technical qualifcations and service management experience. This has also assisted both my dissertation and assignments during my final year.
The Company
The atmosphere was excellent, it was professional, but able to have be fun at the same time. This promoted an effective working environment which supported me throughout my placement.
The organisation was excellent, especially as my manager had years of experience with previous interns she was able to assist me throughout my year.
The company paid for literally thousands of pounds of qualifications that would assist me beyond my placement, as well as allowing me on any internal training courses.

Due to the recession, my offer of a retainer contract was withdrawn, however I have still got an assessment day with the company in the near future.
The Culture
The company promoted a good social start to the year, which provided us all with good networking experiences ongoing.
The cost of living was relatively high due to its location in the south east/M4 corridor. However socialising was reasonable in the right location.
The nightlife was excellent with such a large university population nearby.
There are thousands of clubs and societies to join for such a wide range of activities.
