About You
The vacation scheme provided an invaluable insight into the work and culture of the firm.
I was made to feel very welcome by all of the people I came into contact with.
We attended many lectures on the different areas of the firm. We were also guided carefully by our supervisors when completing tasks.
I have developed my commercial awareness, organisation and time management skills. I have also improved my ability to interact with colleagues of different levels of seniority.
The Company
Graduate recruitment have done an excellent job of structuring the vacation scheme - from lectures to socials to real work.
At times there was hard work to be getting on with, but this was balanced out well by all of the activities graduate recruitment had planned.
Considerable time and effort was put in by both the lawyers and graduate recruitment to ensure the placement lived up to the high expectations of the students.
Given that we were so busy with lectures, training sessions and socials, the amount of real work we experienced was, to an extent, limited. That said, when we were able to settle into the work it provided an invaluable insight into life as a trainee at the firm.
I came into contact with people from the firm at all levels and was consequently exposed to the culture of the firm - which, by the way, was lovely!
The content of the days varied greatly over the course of the scheme, however I feel that the scheme overall has been hugely helpful in enabling me to determine my future career path.
Everything Else
Absolutely. The pay was also very generous.
There were many organised activities which gave me the ideal opportunity to meet people from the firm at all levels.
Incredible! We were taken to some fantastic venues - I really got to see a new side of London.
There was some mention of sports activities, pro bono projects and away days but this wasn't the focus of discussion at any point.
It was a fantastic scheme - I wouldn't mind doing it all over again!
