The Role
Microsoft was a fantastic placment. For me personally, I achieved everything I wanted to in the 11-months I was there and more. The culture, work ethic and organisation of the business was a joy to be apart of and I truly believe it to be one of the top placements within the UK at present.
I was given many real-world business tasks, some of which I am extremely proud of and can look to use these as a basis and foundation for my future career.
My managers were a real asset to me and if they were not around or could not be reached for a particular reason my team and wider team were fantastic in supporting me.
This comes from the way Microsoft is as a company. As long as I completed my projects and tasks I could enjoy the social side of the business as well, where there were some huge benefits to working for them.
I think the responsibility I recieved was alot more then I expected. Compared to a number of friends who also did placement, it was clear to me that I was respected amongst my peers in a way that I could drive my own projects and manage accounts to improve the business.
They truly are skills I can take forward with me, not only to University but further into my chosen career path!
The Company
Hard work but always a fantastic atmosphere to be around in. The extra perks of the job around the buildings were second to none.
I believe very well. I always saw the people involved as hard working and focused on bringing the best people to the company. They were also a fantastic support system for every Intern.
We had a number of lectures and seminars for us to learn from, I trained in-store and even went to Milan for meetings with clients so overall a huge amount of money was invested.

I have been recommended onto the assessment centre for a Graduate role. However, due to the number of applicants expressing an intrest and applying to the company, nothing is certain!
The Culture
A brillant social scene! We were very lucky as there were 96 employees who were Interns in my year and so there was always a social event to attend.
Quite expensive due to the area we were based.
Reading was ok - but on the London door step so we often ventured into there.
Always! A huge range of sports and social activites with alot of investment in. For example, I was part of the Football team who played a tournament in Reading where they flew other teams from around the World in, we eventually won the tournament so we sent a team to compete in Milan.
