About You
Everyone is really friendly, and easy going but you are given real work to do.
My supervisor was always happy to answer questions about the specific take, the cases they were working on or the firm in general.
I was never short of work, but always had someone to ask questions to if I was a bit stuck.
This is the best way to learn about the firm, and helped a lot for the assessment day and any other vac schemes.
The Company
I was always busy and knew what I should be doing! There were really good introductory talks on each practice area, and even a talk from the CEO. Lots of chances to ask questions and get info for the assessment day!
It is a really friendly firm. There were two socials organised in the evening, but other people on the vac scheme were up for organising our own drinks as well!
There could have been more training on the IT systems in place, but the training about the firm itself was well structured and in depth.
I had real tasks to work on and have settled right in!
This is the most valuable part of a vac scheme. You can't understand it any other way.
I think you have to be pretty set on the career path in advance or you won't make it through the interview.
Everything Else
Every group has an introductory session, usually with an associate. There were lots of chances to network with the trainees.
Bowling was really fun and relaxed, and it is a chance to enjoy yourself with no one reporting back.
This could be improved. Doing some pro-bono work or at least hearing about it would be good.
I was valued, did real work, realised I have chosen the right career path, had fun and it really helped for the assessment day!
