The Role
A really valuable and enjoyable experience.
Invited to client meetings and was allowed to get stuck into projects and make my own contributions.
Very helpful. Always made to feel I could ask whatever I needed to.
Good varied amount of work. Ranging from collecting comparables data to going to sites and attending meetings.
I believe I was given a reasonable amount of responsibility. I assisted on the pricing of a scheme and attended client meetings.
Definitely very useful. I feel I learnt how to successfully interact within the context of an established hierarchy. This is a skill which i feel will serve me well in the workplace. I also had to make a large number of phone calls to agents, developers and buyers. So overall, I most value the communication skills that I was able to gain in my time at Savills.
The Company
My team were very hardworking which suited me perfectly. There were times when everyone was laughing and having fun but it was generally a hardworking atmosphere focused on making very interesting projects come to life.
The HR department organised talks, walks, social events and a mid placement appraisal. It was very, very well organised.
We were paid but there were not any explicit personal training or development exercises.
Company Parties/Events
I would very much like to work for Savills from what I have seen so far of the company. Unlike other companies, their graduate programme allows you to rotate through different departments. This is very appealing to me as it enables graduates to gain an understanding of the property industry that is varied and detailed.
The Culture
Drinks in the pub afterwork on quite a few occasions. Very amicable. Felt like a group of friends.
I lived at home so it was free. As the office is in the West End there is a huge mix of places you can go out to socialise - some very cheap and some very expensive.
It was in the heart of London.
Yes loads. A number of emails were sent round inviting interns to various events. Be that cricket or helping out at the launch of a residential scheme. The latter of which I attended. There were complimentary drinks at the launch and the team took me to the pub after.
