About You
They actually gave me real work that would be used in proposals and other background work for clients.
You are given a buddy and a champion and they look after you throughout your placement. Mine were so friendly and really looked after me.
I learnt a lot about using Excel and PowerPoint and basic methodologies for client work, not only that but it told me a lot about what I will need to know more of before joining a graduate scheme.
The Company
My particular department was a bit different, people were on holiday and things didn't necessarily go to plan but they moved me around to accommodate me and what I wanted.
Really lovely people, very inclusive.
We were given interview training for our specific service line, as well as a full day's introduction and IT training. I felt like they were putting a lot of time, money and effort into each one of us.
I spoke to a range of people from different departments and the department I worked with took time to tell me about other projects and experiences they'd had.
Relaxed out of work socials allowed time to talk to current graduates who you didn't work with so could ask real questions about the firm. All staff were honest about their working experience giving both positives and negatives.
I experienced a range of different departments and projects and interacting with other interns gave me a wide access to what different service lines would be like.
Everything Else
Pay easily covered transport and living expenses.
The organised socials included graduates from all different service lines.
There were 2 organised socials during the three weeks for all the interns and a few graduate 'hosts'.
There seems to be plenty of sports teams including hockey, football, netball and rugby as well as getting involved in Charity bike rides.
A really valuable experience.
