The Role
Enjoyable but long hours
Very valued at first, between 3 month and 12 months there are no reviews/forms of appraisals.
100% commitment to the training and exposure side of management.
Ridiculously busy almost every day. Lots of times when we are understaffed.
More than I could imagine. You can choose to have as much responsibility as you like.
Customer service/sales skills for life. Training enhanced knowledge and will help greatly with further studies, especially HR modules which I have chosen to do next year.
The Company
So busy and vibrant. A great team of people. Sometimes due to long hours it can be difficult to maintain enthusiasm.
Lots of interns are now managers, so the exposure and training is great. It has been tried and tested, and everyone above you has been in the same position before, and understands how you feel.
They invested a lot into the training and development, someone is always on hand to help you improve.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
A great way to gain good management experience, and quickly. However due to long hours and commission based salary, it is always a lifestyle choice/ financial gamble.
The Culture
Lots of young people, so plenty of peopleon the same wavelength that want to go out and have fun.
The wage is perfect for an intern living at home. Plenty of cash to spend in the area on leisure. I have had 4 holidays out of it also. If you had to pay rent... then perfect things would be a bit tight.
Currently a great scene for nightlife. However, you get placed at different branches all the time. Previously I was at a branch where the nightlife was minimal.
Out of hours team, charity runs, cycle to work scheme... There's enough.
