The Role
Enjoyable, great experience. Would have preferred a more technical role however
Enjoyed good working relationships with a wide variety of my colleagues.
Manager was despondent and distant. Constantly had to chase her for more work and only had one workload review in 12 months. Was not how I imagine the relationship should be
Varied during the duration of the placement. Sometimes I had a lot to do and other times not too much to do. This was often due to unforseen circumstances however I believe regular workload reviews would have combatted the issue.
Given independence and responsibility but not on enough projects.
Skills developed will assist me more beyond my degree as opposed to during my final year.
The Company
Great office with a fun, helpful group of colleagues
No set structure or project outline for the year. Though I enjoyed the range of activities I did do, there were times I had nothing meaningful to work on.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Good chance of returning on a full time job or as part of a graduate scheme as I have been entered into the fast track process.
The Culture
Only 7 IP students on site and no nearby colleges or universities.
Cost of socialising in the nearby area was affordable
Very little nightlife in the area I worked in but nearby areas were easily accessible and affordable
Yes. A lot of opportunities to get involved in activities outside work
