The Role
Had a good year with colleagues experienced in showing new students how to get into their roles as quickly as possible, interesting tasks and a good placement student community.
Very. I got to take on the daily tasks by myself just a few weeks in.
Apart from always having someone in the team available for questioning, I also had short 1:1 sessions with my manager two times a month, who really made sure I felt comfortable with coming forth with any issues at all.
The mornings could sometimes have a lower work load than for example lunch hours and the afternoon. You could say that things were running in a slower pace parts of the day, and were really hectic during other parts.
I worked on a help desk which meant that I was a voice for our team in the UK. I also got to take on and follow through tickets for failed network devices around the world. I would say that I was given a fair amount of responsibility.
I am now able to show future employers that I have one year's experience within IT help desk support, involving database management, ticket resolving, and a lot of customer service.
The Company
Good. The office building itself was a nice to work in, and I had no problems with any colleague at all.
Did not once think it was badly organised.
I never went through any certifications or such, but they do have a lot of internal company courses related to for example incident management.

Apart from the graduate scheme, there are also opportunities available for contract work. I will not be working within this industry though - for other reasons.
The Culture
It was.
It's quite expensive with public transport and rent in London, but I managed.
