About You
I had a great time at Nabarro. As far as I can see, every aspect of the vac scheme has been well co-ordinated and designed to give us an insight into every level on which the firm functions.
I felt that I was given useful and valuable work to engage with and as a result that I was making significant (if not always large) contributions to the overall effort. This was really satisfying.
A great deal of guidance was offered and given to me, if I needed it. I was always given clear instructions and if I wasn't sure how to progress further I was always able to ask for advice.
I have learned a huge amount over the last three weeks, both about general practice and Nabarro itself. I can't imagine that any of it is worth forgetting as I move forward.
The Company
The detail of planning that the graduate recruitment team went into was remarkable. Everything was scheduled and we were aware of the whole structure weeks in advance.
The general atmosphere was very friendly and lively. Several (fun) social events were organised so that the vacation scheme students could get to know each other and members of the firm better. Even when there was no official plan for the evening we would often take a trip to the local pub.
The vacation scheme students were given a great deal of training so that we could feel comfortable with the inner mechanics at Nabarro. Since the scheme is the only route to a training contract, the firm must invest a very great deal in it.
It was really helpful in deliniating for me the different roles played by the various strata in the employment structure. Although every person plays a different role, there is a very flat social structure so that everyone is equally approachable and friendly. A great environment to work in!
Nabarro's culture is clear through everything it does. In addition to this we were also given a project which helped us to delve further into the company culture.
If I am offered a job at Nabarro, I would take great pleasure in accepting it!
Everything Else
We were paid at a generous rate for this type of scheme.
A number of internal social events were organised (informal drinks, a dinner with the partners) as well as a specific networking skills session organised in partnership with a well known real estate firm, allowing interns from both companies to network.
Extremely well organised and fruitful.
There are a number of charitable, pro bono, sporting and social activities that employees can get involved in. Vacation scheme students were even encouraged to represent the firm at the 'Corporate Games'.
Without a doubt.
