The Role
I loved working for Cisco - I was able to find the role that I wanted that would utilise my strengths. Definitely would go back.
My team were the main reason I loved the placement. We had team events, socials and lunches which meant I had a team of friends as well as colleagues. We therefore worked better together in work.
My manager met with me often and gave me plenty of opportunities to speak openly. On top of this, I had two team lead roles that I was able to talk to if I needed to approach somebody for support.
I was very busy for much of my placement, and found that I adjusted easily, but others may not do the same. It was very intense.
I helped develop part of a huge business critical project, and loved every minute. The work I did directly affected the project.
I've learnt from some of the best brains in the industry. I did not have formal training, though, which I think may have been a benefit.
The Company
Great fun around the office, plenty of in and out of office events and a great buzz.
Dedicated team to manage the internship scheme meant that there was always someone to talk to.
I was able to work very closely with people that knew a lot - an opportunity I loved. I didn't receive formal training though.

Manager is in the process of getting me transitioned. It is still budget-dependent and therefore not guaranteed.
The Culture
Great bunch of people. Plenty of work socials and intern-specific socials.
Due to being near posher areas in London, it was a bit more expensive but the pay meant I was able to afford trips out etc.
Being near London meant there were opportunities. However, in the immediate area, the choice was limited.
I got really involved in the social and charity opportunities at Cisco, where there were a few, but probably could have been more.
