About You
I thoroughly enjoyed the two week experience.
Every task I was set was designed to be a real asset to the work by trainee buddy or associate supervisor was working on. There was little in the way of photocopying!
The guidance and support were both excellent. Nothing was ever too much trouble and no question was a silly one.
As a history graduate my analytical skills and ability to read and digest large amounts of information quickly proved to be a great help.
The Company
The two weeks was very well structured - as well as the main work in our respective departments, we had a number of 'focus' sessions where we were given an insight into different departments.
Every one was extremely open, friendly and extremely driven and ambitious.
Both supervisors I had were anxious that I was learning as well as participating in the scheme.
The two weeks gave a real insight into the every day work of a commercial solicitor. Be able to speak to trainees out of the office gave us the chance to get the 'real' picture rather than the one the firm would like to portray. But in fact, both portrayals were very similar.
The culture was very clear from day one - fun, ambitious, driven and open. This, it seems, is a firm that is really going places.
It has confirmed my ambition not only to work as a commercial solicitor, but also to work for Taylor Wessing.
Everything Else
We were paid a competitive weekly salary.
There were lots of opportunities. Namely, after work drinks, at departmental meetings, and most significantly we were encouraged to introduce our selves during our time in each department. It was very much an open door policy.
Very good opportunities - comedy nights, meals out and various other drinks were arranged.
The sports available were particularly interesting. The firm has an active 5 a-side team, as well as competitive cricket team during the summer.
Absolutely.
