The Role
I really enjoyed working for GSK as the employers were very helpful and I worked in a great team.
I felt like family with my colleagues and I fel likt I was a valued member of the company and this shows as I was offered a 3 month extension.
I was given great support by my manager to train me up to become a technician.
Most of the time I had work to do but there were times where I was bored and sometimes too busy.
I was given alot of responsibility by my manager and I felt like I was contributing a lot to the teams efforts.
The skills I have developed and training I have recieved will asist me in great measure for the future as I have developed so many technical skills since I have been here and gained an ITIL qualification from the training that I have recieved.
The Company
The general atmosphere was quite fun, we always had a laugh and there was always some fun stuff to do round the office.
The work placement was very organised but the payroll company was slightly disorganised.
The company invested in me alot and wanted me to train and develop all the time.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
Healthcare from home
Future employment prospects are very appealing and I have already applied to come back after my degree having secured an extension.
The Culture
There was a great scene amongst students/colleagues as we all got on well.
Housing was quite expensive in certain places and cheap in others. The town can be expensive.
In Ware there is not a nightlife but there is one close by in Hertford which is ok.
There was some opportunities to get involved with outside work. I got to help out Brittish bronze medalist Beth Tweddle teach in schools and I also helped out some people in a disability home for the day as part of GSK Orange day.
