    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I have thoroughly enjoyed working at Nabarro. The HR team strike an excellent balance between hard work during the day, and a busy calendar of social events in the evenings. This helps the vac schemers to feel busy and productive, but relaxed and able to have fun with their new colleagues too.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I definitely felt valued in my department. The work I was given was challenging and served a real purpose, which I feel gave me great insight into the life of a trainee. Everyone I have met at the firm has been friendly and easy to get along with.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • We received two days of induction training before starting work in our departments. We continued to have access to all forms of support and guidance throughout the scheme, from IT and research help to guidance from our allocated supervisor and buddy.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I certainly feel like the skills I have learnt during my time at Nabarro will be invaluable for my future career. Despite coming from a non-law and non-business background, this experience has allowed me to quickly learn a lot of legal and commercial terms.

  • The HR team have provided us with a carefully considered, well balanced structure throughout the scheme. From comprehensive training, through to the organised social events, our three weeks has run completely smoothly, allowing us to learn new skills quickly, and have plenty of fun too.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm invested a lot in terms of training. The first two days provided a thorough induction process, and we were kept up-to-date with our progress throughout the scheme, for instance with a buddy lunch and an appraisal meeting with my supervisor.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Paid, but not reimbursed travel expenses etc. This is not a great problem though, as the pay covers the cost of travel and living in itself.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes, there were several. I was able to meet people from all levels of the firm, from trainees to partners, across many departments.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The networking and social activities were great fun. Over the course of three weeks, we have enjoyed bowling, karaoke, battle of the bands, a pub quiz, a networking event with Knight Frank interns, and a partner dinner.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes, we were briefed in a breakfast meeting about opportunities for charity work, volunteering, and pro bono clinics in the community.

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Absolutely.
