About You
The late nights and early mornings were a real challenge, but by mid second week I had got into the routine. The scheme definitely gives you a real perspective of life as a trainee solicitor and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
From the moment I arrived into my department, I felt valued - I was given all the responsibility I could handle. Everyone at the firm was really friendly and made an effort to make me feel welcome.
I had the best supervisor, hands down and a really nice buddy. All in all, I felt well looked after.
All the new skills I learnt would definitely help me succeed as a solicitor but probably not much transferrable to degree level.
The Company
It was excellent! There was a genuine effort made. Everything was well organised and attended. I understand why the scheme wins so many awards.
The firm definitely does not have a type. That was reflected by our intake. It made for a great vacation scheme.
The first two days were non-stop training. I couldn't ask for more.
It was really insightful. As I mentioned earlier, everything was tailored around creating the realest possible experience.
3 weeks is too long to keep up an act. The firm's friendly, approachable, collegiate culture is genuine. It would be a great place to work.
I pretty much knew this was the career for me beforehand, this served to reinforce that.
Everything Else
I think travel fees should be covered. I know a few interns were out of pocket despite being paid.
Yes, everyone was so eager to get to know us. It was great.
A wide variety, although it would have been nice to have more sports related events or even outings on the town but that proabably is expecting too much.
Breakfast briefings and general chats kept me well informed.
If you're up for a challenge, this is the place to be.
