The Role
Great year, workign with great people in a great industry. The only issues was that due to the nature of an international team we didnt have as much face to face time as alot of the other interns but that was to be expected.
Made me feel part of the team straight away, treated me like a professional and not a student and provided great support in all aspects of my role and my future development.
Great support and guidance in all aspects of the role.
Always had plenty to do and the more successfully I did it the more responsibility I was given
Was given a small amount of responsibility to begin with but as I performed well on tasks I was quickly given more and more responsibility for projects
Definately skills for life, learnt many more skills, both independantly and from my team members, than | have at university so far
The Company
As we were an international team there was rarely mor than three people in the office, the atmosphere was great but when there were more people in there was much more atmosphere but again that is to be expected
Great organisation, we were given all the information we needed prior to the placement
Always lots of opportunities to learn and develop throught the extensive training programmes, also actively encouraged to take on new challenges and skills and this reflects the culture of Microsoft
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
International Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Recommended for the last stage of recruitment for the graduate scheme
The Culture
Lots of social events, with a christmas and summer ball provided by the company
Cheapish as Reading is a student town but still relatively expensive
Was ok, reading isn't the greatest town in the world!
With a volunteer team ready to give you these opportunities there was plenty of chances to get involved
