About You
Very enjoyable and informative - found out a lot about the legal sector and was given a very professional overview of the firm, lots to be impressed by and exceeded my expectations!
After a thorough screening process, did feel like they invested in us given the small number but it was interesting to see how many attendees had different backgrounds/age coming to the day
Given it was an open day did not really need lots of support but given lots of advice and guidance - as a non-law student I had many more 'basic' legal questions that they were happy to answer
Helped a lots, very encouraging for me - unsure of legal field but very eager to find out more this event was only a few hours but able to equip with a great deal of know-how on a legal career
The Company
very well done - lots of activities that made the few hours very worthwhile got through lots of material I was not sure what to expect but they definitely made the most of your time there
it was not too formal, I had worried before that it would be very stiff and slightly forbidding and as I was less familiar with the legal field I worried about the disadvantage...but it was fine, lots of fun
Not so much an overview of a full time role in the company on a day to day basis... but certainly gave an overview of the type of work and client they dealt with and the different departments
This was enlightening - how they advertised themselves and their global network, priding themselves on high quality of work and recruiting individuals suitable for their culture and ethos
Greatly, as mentioned not a law student simply interested in the field this was first real opportunity to visit a magic circle firm and explore the career path, the conversion course and all the logistics
Everything Else
yes, apart from trainee.graduate recruitment and the partners which hosted the presentation they had several trainees to network and talk with - around lunch break and during the networking session
Good opportunity to meet other workers and ask questions - rather brief
pro bono, charity
Yes, if you are interested in law and don't do it try to get work experience to see what it is really like, the application is lengthy but it is well worth the effort and you meet other people at the event
