The Role
Very vibrant and dynamic work environment, yet people at Citi were always willing to help explain concepts and jargons, which made the internship a lot less daunting and a lot more enjoyable!
Very friendly colleagues
Manager was almost always busy but thankfully the more junior people were always there to help!
Very good balance between learning on the job, meeting people and adding value to the team through tasks
A fair bit, although most of the work I do wasn't intended to be shown to clients or expected to make millions for the firm!
Very useful technical knowledge + soft skills buildup!
The Company
Amazing atmosphere, and people always knew how to have fun outside of serious wor.
Almost perfect lineup of activities (trading game and drinks) and training (speaker series, workshops)
Very generous with investing in interns - for instance all interns in Sales and Trading had full Bloomberg Anywhere access, and plenty of resources were put into ensuring the interns made the best of their time at Citi (drinks with senior managers, speaker series, trading games etc)
Subsidised/Company Gym
Citi is hiring but a lot still comes down to market conditions and suitability of the interns within Sales and Trading!
The Culture
Lots of event organised by HR and amongst interns.
Expensive - beer can cost 5 quid a pint, but hey it's Canary Wharf we're talking about!
Lots of pubs albeit they do not open till too late and are quite expensive!
Lots of drinks and potential volunteering opportunities
