The Role
It was a great year because it wasn't easy - the first six months were hard, but working through that was what I'm proud of an made the year very worthwhile.
There really was a kind atmosphere for the most part - nearly everyone I did work for took the time to say thanks. My colleagues went out for drinks a few times, and I was quite friendly with my manager.
I was lucky I had a good task manager that took time to sit down with me and suggest ways I could improve. However, the 'career manager' you report to, was not as helpful.
This was very good bordering on too busy. You could have had less work but I did volunteer for extra responsibilities.
This increased through the year once I proved I delivered good results. If you made yourself known to the right people, you got good responsibility.
Very good. I feel much more prepared for a graduate job now.
The Company
It was fairly well structured with three training sessions during the year, and 2/4/6/9/12 month reviews. If anything the review write-up process felt a bit laborious. I was a bit disappointed my career manager did not know many of the answers to basic HR questions I had as a student.
This was ok - the foundation scheme you're employed on invest in you for three training sessions but they were not open to much more.

The Culture
Really good social scene with the large student and graduate population
Expensive but I was in London so it was worth it!
There were volunteering opportunities but no sports teams etc. that I found.
