  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • There were interactive activities and a chance to socialise as well as receive information. It was a perfect balance and very enjoyable.

    • Everyone from the firm was incredibly friendly, relaxed and open to speak to me.

    • All my questions were answered and everyone was willing to give me advice.

    • Considering the length of the programme, there were a lot of skills and information about being a trainee which I very much appreciated.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • It was very useful to get the schedule of the day beforehand, and everything ran smoothly and for the right amount of time. I was very happy there was a lot of time allocated for lunch to get the chance to speak to everyone there.

    • Everyone from the firm was very enthusiastic and happy to be there, which really influenced the atmosphere.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • The two major activities were focused on development of skills necessary for assessment days and being a trainee.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?

    • Given the time frame, it was more about understanding the culture of the firm which was the primary reason why I wanted to attend the Open Day. In terms of day-to-day roles, there was not too much information.

    • As stated above, the opportunity to meet a vast number of trainees and other staff was incredibly useful.

    • Incredibly valuable, as culture is a major aspect of what sets big City firms apart.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

    • I had an Oyster travel card, but there was the option of being reimbursed.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • I appreciated the long lunch time as that was when I could speak to most people. It was a very relaxed atmosphere with plenty of people to speak to.

    • There was general information about this, but not too many specific projects the firm works on.

    • Great way to get an insight into the firm, especially for those with no summer holidays to complete vacation schemes.
