The Role
Work was very repetitive and not very interesting
Very friendly team, but I wasn't given much responsibility until the end.
Manager was very approachable but he had just come off the grad scheme so I was his first intern. Sometimes he wasn't sure what work to give me.
Didn't really have enough work to keep me busy for the entire day.
I kept asking for more work and responsibility because I didn't have enough work but I didn't really get this until nearer the end of the placement.
I did increase my knowledge of finance, excel and the computer programmes that a finance team might use.
The Company
Really fun team who were a pleasure to work with.
Not much support at all from HR, only had contact with them on the first and last day. My placement wasn't very organised as there wasn't a plan on how I would progress, so when I had finished all my work there wasn't anything else for me to do.
Not many training opportunities for interns given by the firm, all training was on the job, so I only developed within my team and role.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I think if I was in a different team, I may have enjoyed the placement more. I did not think much of the HR department either so it is unlikely that I would go back to them.
The Culture
An intern committee was organised, so that we could arrange our own social events. These were quite good.
Based in London so everything is a bit more expensive.
Lots of bars around the office.
A few sports teams that I could have joined, and various charity days to take part in, in the Summer.
