The Role
I really enjoyed my placement - it exceeded my expectations (which were high already!)
One of the best parts of my jobs was my colleagues. I felt really valued and a key member of the team.
During my placement I had two managers. Both were fantastic and really supportive. They really helped me to get the best out of my placement year and always made time for me.
Because placement students are given a real job (that would need to be filled otherwise) there are plenty of important day to day tasks to be completed.
Again, because placement students are given a real role the level of responsibility was high. My managers trusted me with the work they gave me and I worked with people from all over the business; including partners in Germany and the Board of Management.
I was offered Excel and Powerpoint training. I also had an opportunity to book on to any other training courses I felt I would benefit from.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was great. There was always a real buzz and the company made an effort to ensure employees enjoyed model launches and other company achievements.
Very well - the HR team at Volkswagen are great and keen to ensure you get the best out of your placement.
There was plenty of opportunity to attend training days for skills such as time management or effective leadership.

Company Parties/Events
I would love to work for Volkswagen again but unfortunately you still have to apply for the graduate scheme as anyone else would.
The Culture
Brilliant!
It's not a student city so the weekends can be expensive.
Milton Keynes doesn't have the best nightlife. But the all the placement students were great fun so we always made it a good night!
Events such as Go Karting and sport teams were some of the perks of Volkswagen.
