About You
Everything about the vacation placement was extremely useful and enjoyable.
I felt like everyone, from PAs to Partners, genuinely valued my presence and wanted me to get the most out of my vacation placement as possible.
I was given actual work to undertake and was always given constructive feedback and support where I needed it.
The skills I developed were: research, presentation, advocacy, drafting and close reading. As I wish to be a solicitor and am currently a law student, these skills will no doubt be invaluable to me.
The Company
A brilliant variety of workshops, talks giving an insight into the firm and actual legal/commercial work.
Every in the firm is approachable and extremely friendly, yet professional. Everyone I came across was more than willing to give up their time, from PAs to Partners, to chat about their (always positive) experience of the firm and answer any questions I had, no matter how trivial.
Hogan Lovells was especially excellent in this regard.
I felt I gained a genuine insight into the firm and the reality of day to day life as a trainee solicitor.
The co-CEO came in to give us a talk - I don't think you could get a better understanding of company culture than this!
It affirmed my interest in the firm.
Everything Else
I live outside of London and the payment was adequate for food, transport and accomodation.
Every day was a networking opportunity! Plenty of lunches, drinks and dinners. I feel like I met most of the firm whilst on my vacation scheme.
Brilliantly balanced between having fun and gaining a further insight into the firm.
Yes, every trainee, associate and partner was more than willing to discuss their life outside work.
Everyone should have such a great experience.
