The Role
Everyone was really friendly and I felt like a valued member of the team. I was trusted with a lot of client work too.
Everyone was really happy to help me with any work I was given.
I often got several tasks a day from my colleagues to work on which kept me busy. If I had a quiet period I could ask for more work or work on my intern team project. There was also training and conference calls to take part in with other interns so I was never bored. If I ever felt like my work load was too big, I would just talk tot hose who had given me the work and rearrange the deadlines.
The client work I was given was similar to graduate work however all my work was checked once I had completed it so there was less pressure.
I still plan to go on and train as an Actuary so the skills I've learned will definitely help me get started.
The Company
The office was very relaxed and since it is a small office, everyone knows everyone.
I started a week early and finished a week early yet there were still no problems with starting. Everything was well organised and graduate recruitment were always very helpful.
The interns had several training days to attend for training and getting to know other interns. We also had conference calls to sit in on and also internet training sessions. The varied work and intern project taught me many new skills and everyone was always keen to give me different pieces of work to ensure I had a wide range of skills by the end.

The Culture
I was the only intern at this office this year but there were plenty of lunches and nights out with other colleagues.
Edinburgh was cheaper than I had expected.
It's the capital city so there is always different places to go.
