The Role
The atmosphere was really friendly, and the job was enjoyable
I was given actual work to complete, that was requested by clients
I could ask my manager any question and he would do his best to help me, and if not direct me to someone who could
At first I didn't have much work to do, but once I understood what was needed of me I had plenty to do without being overloaded
A fair amount, it was up to me to determine my workload and hours
I learnt a lot about real life work enviroments and about working in a huge team spanning several continents. My programming ability has also improved
The Company
Fanastic, my team was really relaxed and friendly, and there was always some interesting discussions going on, not all related to work!
Mostly the interns were left to their own devices after the initial weeks, but there were a few points at whch our progress was monitored
There were many events set up for the interns with inspirational speakers and such, as well as extensive training in key skills
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
I would definately consider BAML for a full time grad job
The Culture
We were a friendly bunch, and there was always a group doing things that you could tag along with!
London is quite expensive
Plenty of pubs, bars and clubs to go to as well as outdoor events
There were a few activities such as various friendly sporting competitions with other banks, but not many
