The Role
A massive learning curve, great development oportunities and oopportunity to work with large corporate accounts.
Depends on resourcing. If you were on a team for a long time (1 month+) you would make great friends, work together as a fully intergrated team and have socials. If less, eg 1 week, you would not be assigned as valuable tasks as the others.
The counsellor/buddy system provides lots of support and initial training is good for basic fundamental knowledge.
The hours are long in busy season, and there is an expectation to work whenever is needed throughout the year, eg evenings and weekends.
I was given full sets of accounts as my own, and was often at client site by myself to complete the work.
Incredible learning curve, qualifications with ICAS offered and good brand name on the CV
The Company
everyone was approachable, however often worked out of client site so it was dependent on the team ou were with.
The induction, training and intern interaction was briliant. Once in the working world you are treated like a norml employee. Sometimes it was forgotten that an intern needed on the job coaching.
There are frequent training sessions, ICAS qualification training schemse to become a CA and online courses available if wanted.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Career progression looks good and completion of the training contract is appealing.
The Culture
Yes - good friendships were made in the group
Rent and travel is expensive in London
There was not a lot of time for night life
Frequent socialising networking days, and frequent emails for football sessions, social drinks and team meals.
