  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • A very friendly environment, with very smart people who were always willing to help me throughout my placement.

  • Having studied Statistics as my degree at Uni, I had people asking me questions from Statistics and mathematics quite often.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I constantly received support from my manager and my colleagues. Moreover, I had a mentor from a different part of the business who proved to be very helpful during my time there.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I had my own project to work on which proved to be very challenging as I had to learn new programming language in a very short period of time. Apart from my project, I also helped my coleagues with different daily activities.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • It was stated from the beginning that my project is very important and the final results will be reviewed by some different government bodies. I was also involved in checking my colleague's work at some point.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I continued to work on my analytical skills, but more importantly I developed invaluable interpersonal skills that will help me succeed at uni as well.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Great atmosphere, got to sit just next to the trading floor. Buzzing.

  • First week was training week, and from then on we had different events every week such as presentations, speaker series, debates, training.

  • Very emphasised in the first week, it was much up to me to make sure I make the most out of it from then on.

  • A very diverse mix of people from every single continent, very easy to establish friendships.

  • London is vey expensive, but the financial rewards of the work make sure you have a good time.

  • Awesome. :)

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Ran a semi-marathon, played basketball and poker. Opportunities to take part in a decathlon and different outdoor activities.
