The Role
I enjoyed my internship alot. The first week of training helped in meeting people and adjusting from uni to work life, and on the job the team I was placed with were extremely helpful.
My team gave me training on using the software we worked on, and checked in with me on a daily basis to see how I was getting on.
I had a buddy, a mentor, and a manager, all of who were always available to ask questions and recieve guidance.
I was given just the right amount of work to do, with plenty of options to do more once I had finished what I was doing.
I was trusted with developing new pieces of code and adding them onto existsing systems.
The internship gave me a great idea of the working environment. Things like working with emails, developing in a team (for those tech people out there), and being more confident speaking around senior people.
The Company
Everyone was really relaxed and we would talk and makes jokes.
I always knew where I needed to be and what I needed to be working on.
They had a whole week's worth of training at the start of the intership, and continued to hold training events throughout.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
In regards to the technology programme, a large portion of the interns get hired for a graduate job.
The Culture
There was always something to do at lunch breaks and in the evenings/weekends, usually with the other interns.
I was in London, which is very expensive. However, I was paid a competitive salary.
We arranged nights out fairly regularly throughout the internship.
There were alot of oppotunities for things such as volunteering, sports and societies.
