The Role
It was very enjoyable with many new interesting people to meet and lots to learn.
Everyone was always willing to help and provide their full support when needed.
My manager was very helpful in pointing me in the right direction and providing both technical and social guidance throughout my placement.
There is always something going on but its rarely routine work making it very interesting.
I got to run several projects nearly entirely under my own supervision and I was responsible for several tasks which others relied on me for.
I gained plenty of technical and practical skills to complement the theory covered at university.
The Company
People were hard working but always up for a laugh and some banter too.
There was no defined structure but work really came up on its own and even without a definite table of tasks, things developed by themselves into fairly organized tasks.
Other than training on site, I was also allowed to attend seminars to learn more about how to use software such as Matlab and Labview.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
There is plenty of opportunities to travel and to change career paths to suit my liking.
The Culture
Regular outings and events were organized by the healthy intern body on site, as well as by the social club committee.
Cambridge is expensive for housing. It has many green areas and pubs and other attractions for socializing however.
I don't really enjoy nighlife that much in general.
With lots of green areas Cambridge offers plenty of opportunities for walks, cycle trips and outdoor sports.
