About You
I really enjoyed both the practice areas in which I sat, and the vatiety of work I was entrusted with.
Although it was sometimes difficult not to feel as if vacation scheme students can be a distraction, on the whole the work I was given was of practical use to someone.
HR were really organised and maximsed our ability to learn by supplementing time in the departments with supplemental presentations and events
I was given work that trainees do, so the learning process was tailored to how life would be as a trainee.
The Company
I knew exactly where I needed to be every day, and there was a good balance between time in the departments and other events
All staff members, at all levels, made me feel welcome, and the atmosphere at the firm is the friendliest of any firm I have been involved with.
We attended presentations on practice areas, graduate recruitment, and a session with the CEO.
Although I was given trainee-level work to complete, there were lots of tasks I would have been unable to do having not completed the LPC.
Sharing offices with associates meant I was able to interact with partners, associates and trainees, so was able to understand a lot about the culture of the firm.
The content consisted of alot of trainee tasks which enabled me to directly compare the role of trainees in this firm to others, and to therefore decide on whether this is the right path for me.
Everything Else
We were invited to lunchtime sessions to meet other lawyers, and also attended socials put on by the trainees.
The HR team provided us with information about CSR and voluntary opportunities, as well as other activities that a trainee would be able to get involved with.
