About You
Really enjoyable. Plenty busy during the day, numerous opportunities to socialize on evenings/lunches, and interesting presentations given throughout.
Valued. Given real work by trainees, solicitors, legal directors and partners at various points over the 2 weeks. So felt useful and appreciated.
Plenty of opportunities to discuss goals and progress with trainee and senior lawyer. You can seek as much guidance as you want, in their words "no question is too stupid to ask".
The experience of settling into a new firm will serve me well in future vacation schemes and/or jobs in the future.
The Company
Very well structured. Well supported and given legitimate work.
Professional but calm and relaxed. Every employee approachable. Atmosphere is not tense at all.
Given real variety of work. Quality of experience can depend on luck, i.e. opportunity knocks and you get roped in.
Spoke to trainees off the record. Done some real trainee tasks.
Culture very much as decribed in brochures and websites.
Its happening!
Everything Else
Paid a very decent weekly fee and also travel expenses covered for the first day induction in London.
Plenty of internal opportunites for everyone. I was also taken to an external event, which is an example of the right place right time nature of vacation schemes.
Two signifcant social evenings. Food drinks comedy club. Various lunches with trainees, partners etc. Can't ask for any more than that its not a holiday!
They were expressly discussed by HR, and the head of CSR. Can approach anyone for further information.
Great vacation scheme.
