About You
I really enjoyed my two weeks with the firm. Everyone I met was very welcoming and friendly. I was given real work and by the end of the placement I really felt like part of the team. The social side of the firm was fantastic too!
I felt very valued in my department as I was given a huge variety of work and a lot of responsibility considering I was a vacation scheme student.
There was a lot of support at the firm. Graduate recruitment were helpful and there was a really good support network with both a supervisor and a trainee buddy.
I felt I had exposure to a great variety of work and learnt practical skills which I will take away with me. There was also a good opportunity to find out what other departments in the firm do and how they work together which was a fantastic insight into how a law firm works.
The Company
There was a clear timetable of events which was well organised.
The atmosphere was very positive. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Within my department there was a really good relationship between the team.
There was a really good level of feedback on work I had completed. People in my department took the time to explain and help me on work which was really appreciated.
It gave a really good insight into the type of work and general experience you would get working for the firm.
It was a really good opportunity to understand the firm better and the 'culture'. I feel it gave a good opportunity to understanding whether or not you were a good 'fit' with the firm and the people.
I was already very committed to law but I felt that these two weeks have only made me more motivated. I feel that I now have a greater insight into the firm, its culture and the department I was in.
Everything Else
There were plenty of opportunities to meet people around the firm. If there was a particular department you were interested in there were a lot of opportunities to ask questions and go and meet people.
There was a really good timetable of social events which were all really good fun. There were office drinks every week which were really good fun. We also went to a wine tasting and a comedy club which were really fun.
Yes, whilst I was on the scheme I was able to play hockey with people from varying departments and seniority which was a really good opportunity.
I would definitely recommend this vacation scheme to a friend. I felt like I got a valuable insight into the firm and each department. I also felt like the work I was doing was valuable and interesting.
