The Role
The work was challlenging but manageable and enjoyable.
The people at PwC made me feel very welcome, whether it was my peers or senior partners. Everyone was very approachable.
If ever I needed advice from managers/senior managers/partners, they were more than willing to help me out.
On large clients, I was given the right level of work to keep me occupied all day, sometimes working overtime. However, on smaller clients, sometimes there was little or no work to do.
I felt that the work I was doing contributed to the team and was important, rather than just being something to 'occupy the intern'.
In my degree, the placement helped me very little. However in my future career with PwC, the 8 weeks spent doing the internship will be very useful when I start as a graduate.
The Company
There was quite a relaxed atmosphere, but at the same time the employees were working efficiently.
We were given continuous updates and e-mails on what we needed to do and deadlines to enable us to plan ahead.
We were encouraged to do personal feedback at the halfway stage and at the end of the placement, which described if we had achieved or fallen short of our objectives that we had set at the start of the placement.
