About You
I hated it. I found the long talks boring and the firms culture was not as welcoming as other firms ive been to
Not valued at all- I felt like I was something the cat dragged in, and I was being looked down on because of my lower educational status/social class compared with the other interns
Apart from the general guidance given to the whole group through the presentations, there was little opportunity for one on one guidance or guidance in smaller groups
Not a lot, except for in terms of career decisions- we got no feedback on our performance at specific tasks, or a chance to develop skills such as presenting, though there were some team/group tasks
The Company
Very well structured- everything ran smoothly and went as planned- following the outline given to us
There were elements of fun during the group exercises and business games, but overall the atmosphere was very professional and serious.
Not a lot- I felt like it was down to us to impress the firm rather than for the firm to impress us.
Very well, this was not only put across through the talks and presentations, but also from talking to employees at the networking events.
Very well, through the whole attitude of the firm and the employees, as well as the information gained from the talks and the networking events
very useful- I gained a lot of information about all the different areas I could work in, as well as the culture of the firm.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed for my travel, however I was not allowed to stay in the hotel with the rest of the interns as I already live in London
Yes there were 2 networking events, and we were able to meet a wide range of employees. We also had a mentor who had newly joined
ok- we were not told in advance that we would have to stay late one night for an event.
A bit, although the focus was mainly on the business areas
It was useful in finding out about a career path, but it was not enjoyable
