About You
Very much; a jam-packed three weeks but fun and informative.
Assigned a desk in two different departments over the course of the three weeks and given trainee-level work. Feedback on completed assignments was provided, and help was at hand in case of any difficulties.
Support throughout the three weeks from Graduate Recruitment as well as an assigned trainee buddy and associate supervisor. Everyone at the law firm was happy to answer any questions.
Informative departmental talks for choosing seats as a trainee, and having to juggle work from the two assigned departments as well as a client pitch put organisational skills to practice.
The Company
A great mixture of departmental talks, Q&A sessions, social activities and experience in two different seats.
Everyone was very friendly!
Everyone was happy to spend time discussing their own experiences at the firm as well as provide feedback on assignments set throughout the three weeks.
May have been interesting to shadow lawyers as well as being assigned work during time spent in the two 'seats', to witness firsthand their day-to-day jobs.
Confirmed student law guides and reviews about the culture of the firm as being 'friendly' and 'open'.
Very; enabled me to decide definitively my future career and who I would ideally like to work for.
Everything Else
Yes.
Both informal and formal opportunities to meet with employees at the firm from trainee to partner level over lunch, in Q&A sessions and during evening social activities.
Talks were held for this purpose, where trainees discussed informally their involvement in pro bono work as well as sports activities and diversity groups.
A great holistic insight not only into a career in the legal industry but also Baker & McKenzie as a firm.
