The Role
Lots of socials, good colleagues, convinient location are some of the many aspects to be enjoyed. Highly structured and split into two main desks, there was plenty exposure to the industry, company and roles that are on offer.
Everyone was very approachable and willing to give up their time to chat including many of the senior employees. I was encouraged to ask many questions and all staff I encountered were happy to offer advice and encouraged the interaction. The size of the firm really makes this a stand out area as all departments are easily accessible.
All my collegues were happy to answer questions even when they wer busy. This is my experience has been rare. Also feedback is constant and starts very early into the internship which allowed for me to note any development areas and strengths from the outset.
Tasks varied depending on the time of the month however I was always busy and when I did have some free time this was used for additional activities such as presentations for intern specific events.
Again the size of the firm makes this another stand out area. Tasks were assigned from day one on the desk and some more challenging than others. Colleagues gauged my ability and aptitude from the work they gave me and, provided it is up to standard, they increased the amount and complexity of tasks as they built up confience in my work.
I gained extensive knowledge and skills ranging from industry and product insight to very advanced Excel skills. The exposure to systems and daily tasks is great and enhanced my understanding of the company and my role. Networking opportunties were also ever present.
The Company
Lots of treats all the time. Major sporting events were shown and teamwork is highly emphasised.
Structure was key and I was always busy with departmental tasks, presentations, social events or intern specific training/events.

The firm has and is still growing which is a very good sign in the wake of recent economic times. The firm offers many further qualifications and wants to invest in their staff. Rotation are also promoted and the smaller size of the firm makes inter-departmental interaction much greater. This enhances the exposure to other teams and generates a greater flexibility in terms of changing roles in the future.
The Culture
Always social events on Thursday's and interns regularly cought up.
I did not live in the area but London generally is more expensive. Local bars run 'happy hour' pretty much everyday so this definately helped.
Lots of bars, pubs and places to eat.
